Need help criticizing art work?

I have to critique this art work and I'm not sure how to do it. What would you say about this piece? Do you know how it was made? I'm thinking it was screenprinting but I'm not positive.

I'm having the most trouble at figuring out what the artist was trying to depict. Any ideas?

If you are having trouble trying to see what the artist made, you should tell them. The way you worded it in this question is good since it sounds polite and says you do like the art work but are just having trouble figuring out exactly what it is.

Point out kindly any room for improvement you see, but also make a note of what you like right now. The artist should appreciate both criticisms as it tells them what can be changed but they also have something that someone doesn't want to be changed.

In short, follow the Golden Rule and give the kind of critique that you would like to receive.
